VIDEO: El Paso County hosted the 2019 Oath of Office ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, in Centennial Hall.

Two El Paso County Commissioners, five all-County elected officials, seven District Court Judges of the Fourth Judicial District, and three County Court Judges of the Fourth Judicial District received Oaths of Office during ceremonies Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Centennial Hall.

Musicians from the Colorado Springs Conservatory provided lively music to set the tone for the morning event.

Following the formal Presentation of Colors by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard, the singing of the National Anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance from 4-year-old Struthers Bremer and the invocation by Brad Noonan of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs, Chief District Court Judge William Bain administered the Oath of Office to seven District Court Judges of the Fourth Judicial District. Judge Eric Bentley, Judge Linda Margaret Billings-Vela, Judge Jill M. Brady, Judge Robert L. Lowery, Judge Timothy Schutz, Judge Larry Edward Schwartz and Judge David L. Shakes are starting new six-year terms.

Three judges of El Paso County Courts also received the Oath of Office. Judge Lawrence D. Martin, Judge Douglas J. Miles and Judge Ann M. Rotolo are starting new four-year terms.

Newly elected El Paso County Commissioner Holly Williams took the Oath of Office to begin her first four-year term. Commissioner Williams represents District 1 which encompasses the northern part of El Paso County, including Black Forest and much of Monument. This area has been represented for the last eight years by outgoing Commissioner Darryl Glenn.

Commissioner Cami Bremer then received the Oath of Office to begin her first four-year term. Bremer represents District 5, which includes the central portion of El Paso County, including much of the City of Colorado Springs. This area has been represented for the last eight years by outgoing Commissioner Peggy Littleton.

Chief Judge Bain also administered the Oath of Office for newly elected Coroner Dr. Leon Kelly and Surveyor Richard Mariotti. County Assessor Steve Schleiker, Clerk & Recorder Chuck Broerman and Treasurer Mark Lowderman also took their Oaths of Office, each of whom were re-elected in November.
